History

Chamber Studio began life back in November 1986 when Jamie Watson opened his first studio in the basement of a small shop on Lady Lawson Street, Edinburgh. Around a year later, towards the end of 1987, Jamie took on a new building at Westfield Road, near Murrayfield stadium. Over the next 5 years the studio went from strength to strength before the call for more space meant moving once again. In early 1993 he moved Chamber to West Granton Road to build the spaces that would be the home of the studio for the next 30 years.

In March 2010, it was the turn of a new owner to take the reins. Graeme Young purchased Chamber from Jamie and for the next 13 years, would continue to build upon the reputation the studio had earned under Jamie. March 2023 saw the end of an era…Graeme closed down operations at West Granton Road, unsure of what the future held for the studio or himself.

Fast forward to early 2024 and the decision had been made to continue under the Chamber banner, but with a fresh approach to music production.
